Im a little rusty because I've been watching a lot of baseball as of late. But looking through our D at this years training camp, it doesn't look so OEL.
We have like what, 3 NHL right handers? Realistically, Edmonton only has at most four decent defensemen that won't fuck up every single time they are pressed in their zone.
What lines do you guys predict? Will there be any moves?

I could see a move happening with some of the guys who are UFA this next offseason towards the winter or TDL. Nurse will see some games, Sekera - Fayne is your first pairing. Maybe Schultz - Klef, and then Ference - Nikitin?

I hate that third pairing but I think your correct in saying thats who it will be

Maybe replace nikitin with gryba, Nurse and Reinhart throughout the year to spice it up and get them in some games.

Just can't see Reinhart panning out, the guy for the most part has looked like a dud at the NHL level and that was with a weak islanders defence and now hes on a team with a weaker defense. I can see him being a bottom 6 defenseman but the ceiling is getting lower for him.

Defensemen are weird in that some don't blossom until they hit the late 20s. Give him the right development and he may become a OEL middle pairing guy. I mean, wasn't he only drafted four off seasons ago?

Trouba, Maata, Reilly, and Lindholm are studs now.

Big guys especially take longer to develop. I don't see him being anything more than a second pairing defender best case but I think he will definitely have a career as a bottom pairing guy.

If he can be a stable defenseman who can make smart moves in his own end, im all for him but the trade for him was just too outrageous.

I don't understand the trade, why bring in the exact same thing Edmonton already has lots of? Young left handed defencemen with question marks can already be found in the system, why not go after someone else?

Reinhart does have higher potential than all the rest of the players in the system outside of Nurse (Klef already being an NHL player IMO). Maybe I'm just optimistic for you guys.

It's not that I don't like Reinhart as a prospect it's just that I don't understand why they would not bring in a different type of player. It would be like if Dallas traded a defenceman for a forward... oh wait they did that?
