They're both bad asses, but I'll give you Chychrun might be the better value pick being that he's an elite defensive prospect talent, as they're more few and far between then forward prospects. Franchise D men are always in demand. I was praying the Devils would grab Provorov at 6. I think Zacha will be fine, but I'm gonna hate watching Provorov on Philly. How's PDB been with the youngsters so far? So far so good, Donskoi got the start with the Joe's last night and he's looking like he'll definitely make the team. He had a very strong game, as did Demelo which it won't be to long before he'll supplant Tennyson's spot on the team.

Devils draft Puljujarvi at #3, trade up again and draft Logan Brown at 10 and roll a Zacha- Brown- Puljujarvi line in front of their young D and Schneider and complete the worlds fastest rebuild.

A quick aside: Tyson Baillie has been very impressive so far this season. Baillie and his linemate Dillon Dube have clearly stood out for the Kelowna Rockets who figure to finish as the best team in the WHL again this season. He has gone undrafted 2 times, and only the Flames seem to be giving him any interest. flames.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=774799He will turn out to be a good FA signing at the end of this season. One of the teams is going to be very happy they did so too.

Tonight's prospect report:
WHL: Rourke Chartier: 0G/0A, -1, Rourke is off to a slow start so far this season, but there's plenty of time for him to pick it up. He only recently returned to his team from the Sharks camp.
OHL: Kevin Labanc: 1G/1A, +2, Kevin Labanc got back to what he does best tonight. He lead all shooters with 6 shots on goal, and contributed an ES goal and a PP assist to Andrew Mangiapane. Labanc continues to look strong, and hopes to have another 100 point campaign this season for the Barrie Colts.
QMJHL: Jeremy Roy: 1G/3A, +3, in a wild 9-6 Victory. Roy showcased exactly what Sharks fans are so excited about. He picked up 4 points on the night, and was defensively responsible enough to carry a +3 rating through a wild shootout of a game. He already has 2 goals and 4 assists in 2 games. While we all know he won't keep up this torrid pace. It's really awesome to see what the kid is capable of!
Alexis Vanier: 0G/1A, -2, conversely to Roy. Vanier, who plays on the same Sherbrooke team, wasn't able to keep that +/- rating out of the gutter tonight. Keep in mind, in the Q they give players minus for giving up goals on the PK. Something that I think they should do in the NHL too!

You should write some blogs man, very nice write ups here. Yeah, I'll occasionally post some pieces for the Sharks. It's really the only thing I'd be comfortable writing about. I follow all the prospects, but not in the way I do the Sharks prospects.
