I love you too  You guys and your fancy degrees make me feel dumb. You know what having a degree means? (generally speaking) You are really, really smart at one area of life. Intelligence is relative man, and all a degree says is that you went to a formal setting to be directed in one area of knowledge by people who already have that knowledge. Somewhere along the line we decided that certain knowledge needed to be privatized and that people needed to pay for it. And it doesnt even guarantee jobs anymore. You say you feel dumb, well I bet there are about a million and a half things you know better than I do. Knowledge is more than what you read in a book, its about how you apply it to the real world. |

One of my friends graduated with a civil engineering degree, and he works at Lowes. I think he enjoys making intentionally vague comments about structural soundness to his coworkers there to make himself sound smart. |

I almost have my bachelors. Screwed myself over and just settled for two associates. Could certainly go back eventually, but not while living in this town. Education nowadays is overrated anyways. A doctorate is completely unnecessary in my field, but I want the title. Hopefully when that is done I can open up my own firm in colorado making some sweet concussion-proof equipment for sports. #livingthedream Concussion proof equipment hey? Tough gig to get into. One of my friends is a really big deal in the concussion world. Director of the north american sport concussion clinic at UOf C and is on many global and national concussion panels. Currently is a Research professor in clinical neurosciences. Team doctor for many CANADIAN teams. |
