One again the Dept. of Player Safety had an opportunity to make an example of what you don't do on the ice and once again they've failed. Brad Marchand is a repeat offender plain and simple. What doesn't make sense to me is when he clipped Sami Salo he received a 5 game ban. In the last matchup with Ottawa, he clips Mark Borowiecki and only receives 3 games. If you're dealing with a repeat offender how can you justify the scale sliding down?
They also had another missed opportunity as well. There is a notion out there and trolling bullshit one at that, that the Boston Bruins get away with everything. I'm guessing this has to do with unholy and dark collaborations between Bruins Owner Jeremy Jacobs (Satan, Lucifer, Emperor Palpatine) and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman ( Dookoo, Darth Maul, Never cool enough for a Darth Vader or Kylo Ren comparison). However, giving Marchand the proper amount of games ( 7 in my opinion) could have helped to dispel that notion. Oh well! The Bruins get away with everything and they're bullies I guess. Might as well get used to it.

I'm fine with the suspension, probably could have been longer. I was, however a little surprised/livid that no one else even got so much as a fine. Neil's nutshot, the eye gouging and Stone's illegal check to the head etc.
Whatever they get away with from DOPS they more than pay penance for in the fact that the zebras constantly fail to call penalties against whoever plays Boston.

Marchand is a little pecker head. I have seen guys get hit like that and be seriously injured on the landing. I would have given him 10+ games but I guess the league felt bad about banning him from the classic.
Hurts enough having Krejci out long term. Having Marchnoze out as well puts this team in a world of hurt. That was the worst fucking winter classic to date. At no point were the Bruins even close to being in the game.

Awful game, Spooner is not a #1 centre. He is barely an NHL caliber player. The only reason he puts up points is because he gets to play with decent players every now and again, and gets PP time. I'm fine with him playing on the 3rd line and seeing less than 14 mins a game in a sheltered role. Asking more of that from spoonman is asking for a dumpster fire |
