I don't get the discrepancy in the games handed out. If the NHLPA wanted to throw this back at the NHL and start shit over the league valuing officials over players...

Man, touching any official has always been a huge taboo. Hitting players has been a part of the game since the beginning (obviously not obscene hits like Reaves or Torres). So, it should be more games for a hit on an official than on a player. |

In this instance I think I would have flipped the suspensions, there is clear intent with Reaves. He saw the player's back and he tried to end him. At least with Wideman he got his eggs scrambled and it's harder to justify motivation.

These are the reckless hits that they are trying to get rid of but yet they only give out 3 games? Same thing with Komarov for Toronto with his deliberate elbow. I don't think the sentences are adequate. |
