So Voynov had been in jail since July 6 for his wife beating. Upon his release Immigration officials took him into custody pending a hearing with an immigration judge.
Does he get deported?

I sure hope so. Fucking crazy Russian people. Would be interesting if the NHL or the Kings testify on his behalf and try to keep him here. Hypocritical of them given the treatment of Richards. I think the Kings are going to get shafted. Good on them.

They are definitely going to be eating Richards buyout. They will lose their case I'm almost 100% sure of it. Especially with the Tom Brady ruling yesterday. Teams and the leagues have to stand by the proper process as laid out in the CBA. They can't arbitrarily hand out terminations and suspensions.

Voynov and Richards did stupid shit and their team should be punished for it.

He's a guy with no history and they suspended him as soon as they found out.

I do think the CBA should be amended to allow a team to terminate contracts in the event of a player breaking the law. Some teams don't want that shit anywhere near their team while some teams are so desperate for success that they don't give a fuck.

Just follow it. Or push for more changes tonight next time around.

The NHLPA won't ever want that, they'll try and counter with rehab being the only option probably with termination of contract only allowed in extreme cases or failure of rehab.

"The door did it, I swear! ...(communist dogs)" And all the other Ruskie players come out publicly supporting him. "She deserved it. She is trying to take advantage of him and extort him. She just wants a green card etc..."
