who? The Finns? Obviously a OEL team. The Russians lost so they are the second OEL team. But if you put OEL on either team, they become 12 Wayne Gretzkys, 6 Nick Lidstroms, and 2 Patrick Roys. and one OEL to lead them all

Anyone else think that Matthews kind of has a pig face? He reminds me of those pig guards in Jabba the Hut's Palace.

Observations from the IIHF U18 world championships this weekend: 1): There will be a few sneaky players going in the mid to late first round that playoff teams may get lucky enough to draft. Tyson Jost most notably for Canada. He didnt have the strongest Bronze medal game, but his play reminds me of Toews. ( I think some other commentator mentioned this point as well, not sure who). 2) Logan Brown.....wow. Cant knock that kid off the puck. Going to be this years Mikko Rantanen I think. Except he hits, a lot. Think a more durable Martin Hanzal with a little more finesse and scoring touch. 3). Chychrun. Wasnt the most impressive player for Canada in the Bronze game, but the poise and passing ability is there as well as a cannon from the point. He will be this year's Noah Hanifin. 4). My buddy and I got a kick out of the Gold medal game. Puljujarvi basically dictated his own ice time. He would just hold his hand up to the coach and say "im good" after quadruple shifting on three straight powerplays. That of course was followed by three shifts that were less than fifteen seconds, then followed by another mammouth 3 and a half minute shift. The kid was everywhere and rarely looked tired even after the long shifts. The hat trick he had in the gold medal game was a thing of beauty. This kid is no joke. He plays like Malkin (if malkin were a winger), and isnt afraid to use his body either. My bet is that he will go #2, before Laine but after Matthews. 4). Lots of US and Canada players projected by ISS to go in the first round, hope my team is smart and stays away from Jordan Greenway. He is a big D man, but a freakin lazy ass player. Seemed rather disinterested in hockey to me. 5). I know it's early, but I will put this out there. Kailer Yammamoto is a stud. Could be the next Johnny Hockey. He is that small, speedy and crazy skilled player that can do it all. Yammamoto is a pass first player, but that just adds to his deception. Goalies absolutely do not expect the laser beam of a shot this kid has when he decides to use it. This kid will likely be in the top 5 next year, and I am fortunate enough to have family that lives in Spokane, Wa, where i can travel to watch him play for the Spokane Chiefs next year. If you look him up, he will strike you as small, but he is the perfect kind of forward for the new NHL. Its like Johnny Hockey and Tyler Johnson had a love child.

Was a blowout. Canada was never in the game.

I think Chychrun will take a bit to be a beast, like Hanafin, but he will be solid early. Too poised not to be, he's no Ekblad though.
