So, I'm going to start working on designing a new site for us that will be easier to navigate and with more functionality. Here's a few of my goals for the new site:
-Keep a similar atmosphere, but make it less jumbled and deep down.
-Set up two master threads for conversation, one for hockey, one for stuff, to keep with the websites name.
-A regular forum system like we currently have that will consist of a HSF talk, Fantasy Talk, Bloggers section, and a GIF wars section.
-Either on the top and bottom of the site, have individual team logos for each team discussion.
-Maybe include a voice chat room for game time.
In terms of the website itself:
-A website that will fit to any size resolution instead of having certain things be too big or too small.
-Drop down menus possibly for the forum sections instead of having to scroll through a giant page.
-Easier to navigate forum system, not as cluttered and maybe have an HB style quoting system instead of having a quote within a quote and then your own post, to keep clutter and and data down.
-A MUCH better mobile version that doesn't suck ass.
-A better notifications system that will keep your account up to date with who's responded to you and which threads you've posted in notifications too.
-The new notifications system hopefully will combined the participated AND notifications icons.
These are all working ideas and I'll begin doing a layout design for it. I'll post pics of my drawings and notifications and would LOVE input from start to finish, beginning with comments on these notes. Please, guys, give me some help with this. I've talked to Mikey (Horseguts) and he's on board helping me, but it'll be a major redesign and a major time consumer, not too mention coslty. If you'd like to help at all, please let me know with how you can help.
