The fact there is competition for quite a few positions this year is awesome. I really hope McLellan sits guys who aren't putting in the effort. Also hope to hell Yak gets his shit together and plays with some steady linemates and puts up some good numbers. If he could put up a 25-25 or even a 30-30 I would be so happy. 20 goals from Yak should be the minimum. Imagine if him and McDavid click instantly. "Bust of a pick" my ass. And yes, when was the last time we saw this kind of competition? Hall-McD-Yak? |

I believe McLellan likes to blender his lines, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it at some point. If it clicks then we might see it lots with Pouliot-Nuge Eberle as the 1B? |

I like it. A few people don't want "liability Yak" with McDavid for some reason. I think having Pouliot and Purcell with McDavid would help his transition to the NHL at the start of the year, playing with two vets should help him and when he's comfortable then he can have the fun toys like Hall and Yak. |

Maybe at the deadline, but I wouldn't expect anything of value back. I expect we ride out his contract. Do they offer him a 1 year 1-1.5 next year? |

You think we trade Purcell at all? If someone steps up to replace his production then I could see him being gone sometime around the new year. Maybe Pakarinen has a breakout year and takes his job. It is also possible Purcell finds a little bit of game under McL. and produces reasonably. I don't think he will ever be a 4.5m player again though. |

Unless he absolutely shits the bed. All he has to do is not completely suck and show some emotion and he will hold down the #6 spot. I could see him moving to a playoff contender if the team is well outside of the playoff picture come the trade dl. |

THAT'S who I forgot. I know it didn't look right. All I know is that it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out with the McDavid line, and if LD, Nurse or Reinhart make the opening night roster. Exciting times are ahead.
