Do low market teams like the Hurricanes (who have won a cup) have a permanent place in the NHL? With the rising prices of contracts it certainly seems unlikely.
What do you think, have poor expectations every season, or relocate to a bigger market?
A random note, they need to make a hockey version of the movie 'moneyball' for teams like theHurricanes.

I really think the Hurricanes should be relocated back to Hartford. I miss those jerseys so much. But I'm not sure they would do much better financially. Relocate to Alaska and call them selves the Mystery men

I don't think they give up on Carolina, unfortunately. I think they are prime to be moved to Seattle and balance out the conferences.

They would fit well into the NHL's plans of wanting more TV markets. The city has a history of Stanley Cups and players/staff would love the area. Good rivalry could be formed with the Canucks.

Would be nice to not hear about financial struggles in the NHL for a while. I have got my fill of that with Phoenix the past decade.

Always someone fucking over the rest of the league.

He must be tired of being the main face of the franchise's finances. Can't say I blame him, they haven't exactly been a scary team since they won the cup.

NHL needs a better revenue sharing system then these small market teams wouldn't be having this problem...they need to use the NBA's model with a soft cap & luxury tax threshold then that money can be divided up for the small revenue teams. You need those big revenue teams to spread the weath which isn't happening inthe NHL.

I need to make an alt just for that. I'll have to do that when i'm bored sometime see how long i can last before i piss off Dozzer. I'm glad I didn't make it a requirement here to be permaPotato'd from HB. I think it may be to become a mod though,
